Michael C. Levart
Michael C. Levart, age 61, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at his residence.
He was born September 8, 1948, in Saint Louis, MO., the son of Jesse and Wilma (Hoover) Levart.
On January 19, 1991, he married Carol L. McCallister.
He was born at St. Louis; attended Granite City Schools. Entered US Army at age 16 with two tours of duty - 173 Airborne Division, Alpha Company Second Battalion, 506th Regiment. Tour of duty in Vietnam. Also served with 82nd Airborne Division, discharged 1969. Earned a Silver Star, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Metal and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a combat parachutist, who participated in the only combat jumps in Vietnam. After service worked as a Truck Driver for 30 years. Retired 10 years ago. Moved to Highland 5 years. Loved old western movies. Was a die-hard Cardinal fan and other sports. Enjoyed grandchildren, love to dance and liked gambling.
He was also a member of former Teamster; Disabled American Veterans.

Levart, Grandchild-Finnigan M. Levart, Step Grandchild-Ashley Richter, Step Grandchild-Tiffany Richter, Step Grandchild-Christopher E. Richter, Jr., Step Grandchild-Harley Clay, Step Grandchild-Blaze Clay, Sister-Kathy A. (Doug) Malone of Germantown, Ill., Sister-Sherry L. Levart of New Baden, Ill., Sister-Malinda J. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
