Donna Ann Abert
Donna A. Abert, age 72, of Highland, IL., died Friday, October 19, 2007, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL.
She was born March 22, 1935, in Mt. Vernon, IL., the daughter of William and Augusta (Kline) Barva.
On February 27, 1954, she married Eugene A. Abert , who survives.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church; Madison County Women's Democratic Club; former member of VFW Post 5694, Ladies Auxiliary, Highland, IL.
Mrs Abert was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, IL. After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School, she moved to the Troy area where she worked and met Eugene. After their marriage they lived in Highland where they remained for the rest of their life together. Mrs. Abert worked at Jakel Manufacturing, Highland Supply, Basler Electric, and the Highland Elementary School. She was a Election Judge for many years along with being a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader.
Mrs. Abert enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. She and Eugene had taken many bus tours. She also enjoyed traveling to see her family, children, and siblings.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. James Palakudy, SAC, St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Illinois, officiating.
Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, Ill.
