Zorka A. Ritchie
Zorka Ann (Besta) Ritchie, age 86, of Alhambra, IL., died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, IL.
She was born September 11, 1921, in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Dubovic) Besta.
Zorka was born in Yugoslavia, and came to the USA at age 8 through Ellis Island. She became a naturalized citizen at age 15, and lived in Granite City. After her marriage she moved to Highland and returned to Granite City in 1962, and moved back to Highland in 1994. She worked many years in St. Louis for AD COM & AVSCOM as Aircraft Inventory Specialist. She enjoyed painting ceramics, and fishing. She was of Catholic Faith. She was also a member of VFW Auxillary-Laquey, MO.
Survivors include Son-Donald L. (Linda) Ritchie of Centralia, Ill., Son-Gerald L. (Rhonda) Ritchie of Highland, Ill., Son-Steven M. (Lynn) Ritchie of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Michael, Grandchild-Mark, Grandchild-Allie, Grandchild-Chance, Grandchild-Levi, Grandchild-Rebecca, Grandchild-Chad, Grandchild-Nick, Grandchild-Shai, Grandchild-Heather, Grandchild-Seth, Grandchild-Mirah, Brother-Rudy Besta of Calif., Sister-Donnica Warren of Granite City, Ill.
She was preceeded in death by Father-Joseph Besta, Mother-Mary Besta, nee Dubovic, Husband-Lawrence E. Ritchie
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.Service InformationVisitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
There will be no services, Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, Ill.
