Genevieve Winkeler
Genevieve P. "Jenny" Winkeler, nee, Gnaedinger age 78, of St. Rose, IL., died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL.
She was born July 6, 1929, the daughter of Anthony and Laura (Voegele) Gnaedinger.
On January 27, 1953, she married Andrew H. "Andy" Winkeler , who survives.
Mrs. Winkeler was born and raised on a farm in the Pierron area. Her first six years of marriage she and Andrew lived in the Pierron area after this they moved to the north-west area of St. Rose where they have been ever since. She worked 17 years at Highland Supply Corporation in Highland.
Mrs. Winkeler collected salt and pepper shakers and tooth pick holders. She enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a member of Ladies Sodality at St. Rose Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband-Andrew H. "Andy" Winkeler of Highland, Ill., Son-Alan F. (Kim) Winkeler of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Paula M. (Winkeler) Williams of Highland, Ill., Son-Wayne A. (Janice) Winkeler of St. Rose, Ill., Son-Jerome A. Winkeler of Aviston, Ill., Grandchildren: Shane Winkeler of Highland, Ill., Nicholas Winkeler of Highland, Ill., Cheryl Winkeler of St. Rose, Ill., Lisa Winkeler of St. Rose, Ill., Brother-Richard (Lorene) Gnaedinger of Lady Lake, Fla., Brother-Donald (Sarah) Gnaedinger of Sterling, Ill., Brother-Carl H. Gnaedinger of Highland, Ill., Sister-Rita Fohne of Lebanon, Ill., Sister-Joan Long of Eaton, Ohio, Sister-Sharon (James) Widman of Parkville, Mo., Sister-Denise (Dennis) Stoecklin of Clackamas, Ore.
She was preceeded in death by her father-Anthony August Gnaedinger, mother-Laura Caroline Gnaedinger, nee Voegele, and a brother-Vincent Gnaedinger.Service InformationArrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, October 25, 2007. , at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, IL., with Rev. Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating.
Interment will be at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Breese, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Masses, Heartland Hospice, or the Alzheimer\\\'s Association.
