Gloria Woolner
Gloria J. (nee Kitsch) Woolner, age 64, of Highland, IL., died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at her daughters home, Troy, IL.
She was born May 3, 1944, in Centralia, IL., the daughter of Robert and Etta (nee Jackson) Kitsch.
On November 21, 1976, she married Sgt. John R. "Jack" Woolner, Sr. USAF Retired, died 2/13/02 , who passed away February 13, 2002.
She was a member of Highland Hope United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Woolner was born at Centralia, IL; grew up in Collinsville where she attended Collinsville High School, graduating in 1962. She attended SIUE for three years. She worked for Civil Service at the Defense Mapping Agency for 20+ years. She moved to Highland in 1978. In her retirement from Civil Service, she worked at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed her family and reared two of her grandchildren. She loved to read.
Survivors include Daughter-Tina A. (Duane) Allen of Leavenworth, Kan., Son-Michael A. Woolner of Los Angeles, Calif., Son-John R. (Elizabeth) Woolner, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Daughter-Michele L. Gause of Troy, Ill., Daughter-Bobbi J. Gause of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Jennifer R. (Richard) McGowen of Michigan, Brother-Robert L. (Cathy) Kitsch of Ballwin, Mo., Brother-Alan Fortmeyer of Highland, Ill.
She was preceeded in death by Father-Robert L. Kitsch, Mother-Etta Mae Kitsch, nee Jackson, Husband-Sgt. John "Jack" R. Woolner, Sr. USAF Retired, died 2/13/02, Brother-David W. Kitsch, died in 1972.
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.Service InformationVisitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2009, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2009. , at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Dan Perry, Pastor,
Highland Hope United Methodist Church, Highland, Illinois, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, Ill.
