Phyllis L. Brink
Phyllis Louise (Ernst) Brink, age 70, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJC) in Saint Louis, MO.
She was born August 10, 1938, in Worden, IL., the daughter of Raymond and Mamie (Espenschied) Ernst.
She married Gilbert G. Brink, later their marriage ended after 22 years, he died 9/9/00.
Mrs. Brink was raised at Alhambra and grew up there. After marriage, they raised their family in Alhambra. They later moved to Edwardsville where she opened her Beauty Shop "Transformations", later called "Lincoln Square Salon and Body Designers". She retired as a beautician while living in Edwardsville. She later moved to Highland. She played the organ at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the organ, music, friends and family.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ.
She was also a member of Past Polio Health International - St. Louis, MO.
Survivors include Mother-Mamie S. (nee Espenschied) Ernst of Alhambra, Ill., Son-Kendall R. (Kathy) Brink of Sorento, Ill., Son-Gregory K. (Jane) Brink of Hurst, Texas, Grandchild-Kory (Angela) Brink of Mount Olive, Ill., Grandchild-Kevin (Kimberly) Brink of Greenville, Ill., Grandchild-Amanda (Derek Spellman) Brink of Joplin, Mo., Brother-Carl R. (Kathleen) Ernst of Little Meadows, Pa., Step Grandchild-Juan Wertz of Hurst, Texas, Step Grandchild-Shannon Wertz of Hurst, Texas, Gr Grandchildren-8 .
She was preceeded in death by Father-Raymond John Ernst, died 7/6/80, Sister-Judy Ernst, at age 15.Service InformationArrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, Ill.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL, and from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Salem United Church of Christ
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, IL., with Rev. Jerry Amiri, Senior Pastor, Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, IL, officiating.
Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Post Polio Health International or Salem United Church of Christ.
