David A. Steen
David A. Steen, age 61, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at his residence in Highland, IL.
He was born May 13, 1947, in Saint Louis, MO., the son of Walter and Delores (Schwab) Steen.
On February 6, 1987, he married Patti A. Smith, who survives.
Mr. Steen was born at St. Louis, MO. He grew up in Jennings, MO; later living in Alhambra, IL. He graduated from Jennings High School in 1965; later graduated from Rankin Trade School for automotive technology in 1967. He was with the US Army Reserves (68-74) 219th Transportation Co. (Wood River, IL). He worked for the United Parcel Services (1967-1969); Firestone Co., St. Louis, MO (1969-1970); Jennings Police Department, Jennings, MO as a patrolman (1970-1979); Coca Cola Enterprises (1979-2001), retiring after 22 years as a maintenance supervisor. He also worked for Cott USA (2001-June of 2006)as a maintenance supervisor; and for Saline Township (Illinois) on the road crew until his illness. He enjoyed flying airplanes, gambling, fishing, and racing (drag racing).
Survivors include Wife-Patti Ann (nee Smith) Steen of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Cathy A. (Tim) Cline, nee Hug of Saint Louis, Mo.
He was preceeded in death by Father-Walter Steen, Mother-Delores (nee Schwab) Steen
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.Service InformationVisitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Prayer Service will be at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, IL. Officiating will be Chaplin Michael Garrison, Heartland Hospice, Fairview Heights, IL.
Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2009, at Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens in Saint Louis, MO.
Interment will be at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in Saint Louis, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
