Bernard H. Hemann
Bernard H. "Bud" Hemann, age 77, of Highland, IL., died Friday, July 25, 2008, at his residence in Highland, IL.
He was born December 30, 1930, in Germantown, IL., the son of Henry and Catherine (Hagen) Hemann.
On November 24, 1955, he married Marian C. Hemann nee Kniepmann , who survives.
Bud was born in Germantown and grew up there. He graduated from Aviston High School in 1949. In 1950 he started working at Granite City Steel then served with US Marine Corps. from 1951-1953, discharged as First Sergeant, at Camp Pendelton, CA. He returned working at Granite City Steel and retired in 1994 with 44 years of service as a Rigger. Bud was a tremendous handyman and helped with remodeling the Highland Chamber of Commerce Office. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was an avid golfer, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church-Highland.
He was also a member of Highland Lions Club

Highland Country Club
Former member of American Legion.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Fr. Charles A. Edwards officiating.
Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Education Foundation or to Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University.
