Delores E. Zobrist
Delores E. Zobrist nee, Marquardt age 80, of Highland, IL., died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL.
She was born June 26, 1927, in Waterloo, IL., the daughter of William and Bertha (Schneider) Marquardt.
Mrs. Zobrist was born at Waterloo, IL; in 1935 she and her family moved to Grantfork, IL . She attended and graduated from Grantfork School. She worked for a time at Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland, IL. Following the death of her mother, she took care of and maintained the home for her siblings and father.. After her marriage, she lived in the Highland/Marine, IL area all her life. She had worked at the Marine Garment Factory, as a seamstress, for some thirty years and had retired when the factory closed in 1986. She then worked in maintainence at the U. S. Post Office in Marine, IL for a number of years. She moved to Highland in 2007 and into the Highland Health Care Center in March of 2008. Mrs. Zobrist enjoyed reading, working puzzles and walking.
On October 5, 1946, she married Earl W. Zobrist died 04/30/2000 , who passed away April 30, 2000.
She was a former member of the First Christian Church of Marine;
She was also a former member of the Marine Senior Citizens;
Former member of 5-Star Club of Central Bank - Marine;
Former member of Christian Women's Fellowship-Marine;
International Ladies Garment Workers Union #104.
Survivors include Daughter-Kandra F. "Kandi" Wernle of Highland, Ill., Sister-Frances Wisnasky of Marine, Ill., Sister-Beatrice M. Willmann of Highland, Ill., Sister-Linda (Morris) Zobrist of Highland, Ill.
She was preceeded in death by Father-William A. Marquardt Sr., Mother-Bertha ----- Marquardt nee Schneider, Husband-Earl W. Zobrist died 04/30/2000, Brother-Robert Marquardt, Brother-Sylvester Marquardt died 12/04/94, Brother-William A. Marquardt, Jr. died 10/23/1959, Brother-Cletus Marquardt (died 06/18/1991), Brother-Leroy Marquardt, Brother-Leonard Marquardt (infant)

First Christian Church
Marine, Illinois officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, Ill.
