Eldon E. Blumberg
Eldon Erwin Blumberg, age 76, of Marine, IL., died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at his residence in Marine, IL.
He was born July 12, 1930, in Troy, IL., the son of Erwin and Ethel (Carter) Blumberg.
On September 10, 1955, he married Marlene L. Blumberg nee Daiber, who survives.
He was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine.
Eldon was born in Jarvis Township, southwest of Troy. He grew up on a farm and attended Formosa Country School. After school he helped his parents farm. He then served with the US Marine Corps. from 1951-1953 with duty in Puerto Rico. In January of 1954 he started work at 4-5-6 Co. in Highland (now McGinley Motors) for over 40 years retiring in 1995. Eldon enjoyed fishing, camping with his family, mechanic work at his home. He renovated the Parkview for his daughter and worked there part-time for several years. He rode a Honda Goldwing and Yamaha V-Star, and in the early 50's had an Indian Motorcycle.

(Charles) Schwend of Marine, Ill., Grandchild-Timothy J. Simon(Girlfriend Deven Vonderhaar) of Marine, Ill., Grandchild-Jamie Lynn Simon (Boyfriend Brent Anderson) of Troy, Ill., Grandchild-Chad A. (Jenna) Edwards of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Drew A. Edwards (Girlfriend Beth Vogel) of Hillsboro, Ill., Godchild-H.R. Blumberg, Jr. of Marine, Ill., Godchild-Shari Ransom VonEye of Virgil, S.D.
He was preceeded in death by Father-Erwin William Blumberg [DOD - 09/10/2000], Mother-Ethel N. Blumberg nee Carter [DOD 10/23/1988
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Marine, Ill.Service InformationVisitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Marine, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at United Church of Christ of Marine
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at United Church of Christ of Marine in Marine, IL., with Rev. Philip H. Kershner, Pastor United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine, Illinois officiating.
Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or United Church of Christ of Marine.
