Delma B. Demkey
Delma Barbara (Lang) Demkey, age 85, of Alhambra, IL., died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 4:20 a.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
She was born April 21, 1921, in Highland, IL., the daughter of Adolph and Lena (Gilomen) Lang.
On June 18, 1949, she married Melvin Demkey. He died December 1970.
Delma was born East of Highland and attended a country school and later attended Rockwell School. She had worked at several area restraurants as a cook including Ammanns Restraurant, Diamond Mineral Springs, Grantfork Bowl, and the Inn Keeper. She moved into Alhambra Care Center in 2005. She loved to read and embroider.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ-Alhambra, IL.

(Fiancee Ann Volkmar) Demkey of New Douglas, Ill., Daughter-Verna (Bud) Gilley of Alhambra, Ill., Grandchild-Scott Demkey, Grandchild-Jeffrey (Tammy) Bone, Grandchild-Chris (Gina) Gilley, Grandchild-Lisa M. (Brian) Boerm, Grandchild-Vicky Demkey, Grandchild-Carma Rokos, Grandchild-Craig Demkey, Step Grandchild-Michael Crawford, Step Grandchild-Dawn Weiss, Step Grandchild-Josh Crawford, Great Grandchildren-Nine .
She was preceeded in death by Father-Adolph --- Lang, Mother-Lena Lang,nee Gilomen, 1st Husband-Clifford Demkey, 2nd Husband-Melvin Demkey, died December 1970, Daughter-Judith Marie Ohren, died 10/1/2006, Son-Delmar Demkey, died 1964, Grandson-Gary D. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, March 12, 2007, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Dauderman Mortuary
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL., with Rev.Dr. Gladys Herzog, Pastor of Salem United Church of Christ Alhambra, Illinois
officiating.
Interment will be at New Douglas City Cemetery in New Douglas, Ill.
