Lillie P. Hobbs
Mrs. Lillie Pearl Hobbs, age 85, of Highland, Ill., died Sunday, October 9, 2005, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, Ill.
Mrs. Hobbs was born October 6, 1920, in Tilden, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Maude (McMillan) Sculley. She lived in Sparta for six years and then moved to Belleville. She worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and then Memorial Hospital for ten years as a C.N.A. In 1986, she moved to Faith Countryside Homes in Highland. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, growing flowers, and followed St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Wrestling on television.
Mrs. Hobbs was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church in Belleville, the Royal Neighbors of America Highland Camp #1957 for 50 years, a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Belleville, and a former member of the United Pentecostal Church in Belleville.
Survivors include Son-Charles T. "Ted" (Ava) Schmidt of Highland, Ill., Son-Melvin L. (Rosemary) Underwood of Belleville, Ill., Son-Joseph D. (Michelle) Underwood of Cambridge, Ohio, Daughter-Shirley M. (Dana) Collins of Pasadena, Md., Sister-Iva Lee Wise of Texas, Brother-Charles E. "Bud" (Shirley) Sculley of Jacksonville, Ill., Grandchild-Michael (Laurie) Underwood of Manchester, Mo., Grandchild-Raul (Monika) Butland of Oberkotemy, Germany, Grandchild-Lisa (Dennis) Powell of Austin, Texas, Grandchild-Mark (Natalie) Butland of Austin, Texas, Grandchild-Sherry (Daniel) Connell of Ticabou, Utah, Grandchild-Janna (Michael) Schmitt of Mascoutah, Ill., Grandchild-Jeff (Tina) Underwood of Mascoutah, Ill., Grandchild-Jamie (Richard) Collins of Belleville, Ill., Grandchild-Robert (Amy) Schmidt of Marine, Ill.
She was preceeded in death by her Parents, First Husband-James Underwood (Died 1/24/1946 - Married 1940), Second Husband-Charles Schmidt (Died 7/18/1956 -Married 1954), Third Husband-James B. Hobbs (Died 1980 - Married 1968), and Sister-Ruth Coca (Died 1979).Service InformationVisitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill. and on Thursday, October 13, 2005, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Apostolic Church in Belleville, Ill.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at 3:00 PM at Apostolic Church in Belleville, Ill.
Interment will take place at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Southern Illinois Hospice.
