Robert W. Zink Sr.
Robert William Zink, Sr., age 68 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.
He was born February 22, 1943, in Belleville, IL, the son of William Herman and Josephine Rose (nee Skinulis) Zink.
On March 31, 1962, he married Donna Lee Dill who passed away on July 12, 2001
He was a member of VFW Post 5694-Highland, IL and a former member of Highland Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Zink was born at Belleville, IL; grew up there and graduated from Belleville Township High School. He served with the US Air Force with duty in Vietnam. He attended Parks Air College and then went to work for McDonnell-Douglas Air Craft. In 1969 he started with TWA as an aircraft mechanic; he retired from American Air Lines in 2005. He was an Amature Radio Relay Club member KBOJTV; Reserve Dept. with the St. Charles, MO Sheriff's Department; worked on getting his Private Pilot's license; and was a Licensed Gunsmith. In his later years, he enjoyed time with his grandchildren and he and his wife bowled in several leagues prior to her death.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.Service InformationVisitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Wednesday, August 24, 2011, Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Jerry Amiri, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
