Dan R. Augustine, age 76 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, September 02, 2010, at his residence in Highland, IL.

He was born on Monday, August 20, 1934, in East Saint Louis, IL, the son of Fred and Nellie (nee Bushong) Augustine.

On Saturday, September 04, 1954, he married Geraldine F. "Gerry" Augustine (nee Schmieg) who survives.

He was a member Fraternal Order of the Eagles 545 and (Past President), East St. Louis, IL.

Mr. Augustine was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, graduated from East St. Louis Senior High in 1952. He went to work for CB &Q Railroad, also worked for Delaware & Hudson Railroad as the Office Manager, Soo Line Railroad in St. Louis, as Office Manager and promoted to assistant district Sales Manager and retired in 1986. He enjoyed coin collecting, hunting, fishing, bowling, craft and woodworking. He owned a club house at Grafton on Pohlman Slough. Mr. and Mrs. Augustine would have celebrated their 56 year wedding anniversary on September 4, 2010.
