Katie L. Randol
Katie Lee (Hite) Randol, age 80, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at her residence in Highland, IL.
She was born July 21, 1929, in Cunningham, KY., the daughter of Charlie and Mattie (Halstead) Hite.
On June 1, 1948, she married Joel R. Randol , who survives.
She was born at Cunningham, Kentucky, East of Bardwell in Carlisle County Kentucky. She worked 28 years and retired from Southwestern Bell Company. She worked in East St. Louis, IL and later at Collinsville, IL. She and her husband lived at East St. Louis, IL, then Troy, IL for 23 years, then Bardwell, Kentucky for 15 years, before moving to Highland, IL in 2005.
She enjoyed yard sales, crafts, enjoyed raising flowers, cooking, spending time with her family, and travel.
She and her husband attended Highland Community Church.
She was also a member of Member of Bardwell Baptist Church.
Survivors include Husband-Joel R. Randol of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Kathryn D. (John V.) Schmitt of Highland, Ill., Brother-Burl Hite of Cunningham, Ky., Grandson-John R. (fiancee-Amanda Miller) Schmitt of Caseyville, Ill., Grandaughter-Jennifer (Brett) Droy of Moore, Okla., Grandaughter-Julia (Ian) Lackey of Highland, Ill., Great Grandchild-Britney Lackey, Great Grandchild-Brooklynn Lackey, Great Grandchild-Trent Droy, Great Grandchild-Taylor Droy, Great Grandchild-Kaylee Droy, Great Grandchild-John R. Schmitt, Jr., Great Grandchild-Seth Schmitt
She was preceded in death by Father-Charlie Hite, Mother-Mattie Hite nee Halstead, Brother-Randol Hite, Brother-Dallas Hite, Sister-Ila Edwards, Sister-Avis Reasons, Sister-Dathol Marshall, Father In-law-Joe Randol died 11/9/1976, Mother In-Law-Eda Randol nee Johnson died 6/27/1995
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.Service InformationVisitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Bardwell Baptist Church in Bardwell, KY.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Bardwell Baptist Church in Bardwell, KY., with Brother Mark Burnett, Pastor of Mississippi Baptist Church in Bardwell, KY
officiating.
Interment will be at Mississippi Baptist Cemetery in Bardwell, Ky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or
Mississippi Baptist Cemetery.
