Myron E. Albers

Myron E. Albers, age 85, of Highland, IL., died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at his residence in Highland, IL.

He was born January 7, 1925, in Beecher, IL., the son of Edward and Ida (nee Guritz) Albers.

On January 29, 1949, he married Darceta J. (nee Ahrens) Albers , who survives.

He was a member of Former member-Lutheran Church, Beecher and Grant Park, IL.

He was also a member of Grant Park, IL; Flying Farmers; Aircraft Owner and Pilot Assoc (AOPA); Will County Farm Bureau.

Graduated from Beecher High School in 1943. Operated the family farm at Peotone/Beecher, Illinois. He dairy farmed for 40 years and also grain farmed. After 50 years of farming he retired. He and his wife moved into Beecher in 1994 and to Highland in August of 2004. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle; flying his Cessna 182 airplane, flying cross-country to California, North Dakota and other places; trap shooting; and loved his pet dogs. He was always reading and interested in farming.

Survivors include Wife-Darceta J. (nee Ahrens) Albers of Highland, Ill., Three Daughters-Dawnell J. Albers of El Cerrito, Calif., Bonnie L. Gitersonke of Highland, Ill., and Tracy D. (Joe) Scally of Grant Park, Ill., Three Grandchildren-Wade C. (significant other-Ana Lopez) Brands of West Hollywood, Calif., Benjamin A. (significant other-Sarah Schalmo) Gitersonke of Chicago, Ill., and Joseph A. (Fiancee Natalie Johns) Gitersonke of Oklahoma City, Okla., Sister-Florence Bryndza of El Cerrito, Calif., and Step Sister-Eunice (Leon) Riechers Albers of Beecher, Ill.

He was preceded in death by Father-Edward Albers, Mother-Ida (nee Guritz) Albers, and Step Mother-Dora Riechers Albers.

Service Information

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.

No Services are scheduled.
